Sometimes, the most rewarding moments in a creative journey come when you least expect them. Recently, I had the pleasure of printing and painting a stunning 1/6 scale sculpture of Padmé Amidala, using a model from SW3D. As with many of my projects, I shared the finished results in their Facebook group, eager to contribute to the community and perhaps inspire fellow hobbyists.
What happened next completely caught me off guard. To my surprise—and absolute delight—SW3D chose to use my images as the official promo art for their monthly model giveaway! Not only did they feature my work, but they also gave me full credit in their post, acknowledging my efforts in bringing their model to life.
It’s one thing to create art for the sheer love of it, but it’s another to have your work recognized by the very people who designed the model. Seeing my painted version of Padmé showcased in their promotional materials was both an honor and a truly humbling experience. It’s moments like these that reinforce why I love being part of this incredible 3D printing and painting community—where creativity, passion, and mutual appreciation bring artists together.
A huge thank you to the team at SW3D for this unexpected recognition. I’m beyond grateful and even more motivated to continue honing my craft. If you haven’t already, I highly recommend checking out their amazing models—you never know where your next project might take you!.
